A Message from Governor Jodi Rell
and the Connecticut State Veterans Memorial Foundation

This year, during Connecticut’s 375th Anniversary, I have launched a special effort to build an official state memorial honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans. The memorial will be located across from the State Veterans’ Home in Rocky Hill. We will break ground for the memorial in November 2010.

There are local monuments on many town greens across the state – but there has never been a unified, statewide memorial. Half of the $1.2 million needed for this important project has already been raised. We need your help to complete the job.

An “Honor Roll of Heroes” will be displayed in a kiosk at the memorial. Consider enrolling a veteran or current member of the Armed Forces who is special to you – a family member or friend – by making a $1 donation to support the memorial and have your loved-one’s name included on the “Honor Roll of Heroes.”

Your donation will help make this project a reality and forever celebrate the special service member you choose to honor.

Please help us today by donating a dollar and filling out the attached form. There will be centrally-located donation collection points at banks throughout the state for people to drop off their dollar donation as well as the attached information card. Donation cards are also available at the participating banks.
